Edwards named MVP of THSCA Game

Baylor's first 2012 commit, Aiavion Edwards, had a breakout first game of the year in Stephenville's win over #1 Aledo and rushing for more yards than Texas commit Jonathan Gray.

Then early in a game versus Lewisville Hebron he suffered a broken foot. Edwards was able to make it back to play against Aledo in the playoffs, but his conditioning and speed were not back to normal.

Tonight in the THSCA game they were. Edwards ran through, around, and over South defenders to win the Offensive MVP with 74 yards on 9 carries.

Edwards, ever the helpful teammate took the lead block on two rushing touchdowns for Wayne Onderdonk of Alvarado.

Also, on a blocked extra point Edwards ran down the opposing team returning the block at the opposing 40 and stripped the ball carrier.

Edwards wasn't the only Baylor recruit in the game. Rashodrick Linwood played both ways and had several deflections at cornerback.

Shock is scheduled to play inside receiver for Coach Briles, but defensive coordinator Phil Bennett had to like his play on the corner.

Kyle Fuller also looked very good at offensive tackle and center.
