Josh Pettitte

    • Thanks for posting this.

    • thanks Brenden and Austin- good read!

    • This is a modified version of a story I'm doing focusing on the father/son relationship between Clemens, Biggio, Pettitte and their boys. Josh is a class act and takes after his dad. It should be fun to see them both around campus in the upcoming years.

Have you been in touch with Craig's youngest son Cavan? I remember reading he made the U-18 USA baseball team months ago, but didn't know if he is committed to play somewhere already?

I actually spoke with Cavan over the weekend as well. He's a solid middle infielder heading to Notre Dame. However, he's a highly-rated prospect so I'm not sure he makes it to campus.

Just the commit to ND bc big brother there probably? Interesting, thanks for insight and response Astaton.

He had originally committed to UVA -- a much better program -- but he said ND has been his dream school since he was young. Having the chance to play with his older brother for two years would be icing on the cake for him.

    • Not that Baylor has cornered the market on Christianity, obviously, not that we don't have a huge diversity of students and beliefs represented in our student body, and not that we don't have our own troubles occurring on our campus, but what a refreshing article this morning about the Pettitte family, a family of committed Christ-followers, whose son was drawn to Baylor after prayerful consideration. This was especially nice to read in light of the drug culture that is getting the headlines at TCU over the last year, and the Major Applewhite news down in Austin from just last evening.

We've had our share of bad press over the years, but I believe God is blessing the quality people that are running our athletic department and coaching our teams. While so many universities seem to be getting more and more hostile to traditional Christianity, Baylor's attempt to remain committed to its original faith-based reason for forming seems to actually be a positive for many of the athletes that we are competing for. And as has been mentioned in other articles, our athletic programs seem to be producing outstanding representatives of our university, who are extremely loyal to Baylor.

...makes the winning even more enjoyable.

    • Just an update on Josh...

He fanned 10 batters and issued just one walk in a no-hitter on Friday night.
