Seals-Jones talks camps and visits

Ricky Seals-Jones

Ricky Seals-Jones is a looking to prove he is more than just a football player. Ricky talks about recent camps and his college list.

    • Great interview Brenden!

      Brian Ethridge

    • thanks Brenden- appreciate the interview.

      Ashley Hodge

    • Thanks.

Reading the tea leaves his comments below make it seem he (1) didn't have the warm fuzzy feeling about UT (yet at least) and (2) if he is looking at what WRs are in front of him... we are pretty loaded but I guess the other teams have highly regarded guys also. Wonder what his thoughts are there.

... "When you get out of the car, it’s got to be the right place to be. Other than that, you have to look at academics, what the program looks like, and who they have in front of you at your spot. "

      ... So you're saying there's a chance...

    • I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him go to aggy. They will sling the ball around with Sumlin, he will face top defenses (could that make him NOT go?), and he could easily play on the aggy hoops team.

However, if he thinks he got death threats just by decommitting from the Horns, can you imagine the backlash should he switch to aggy?

    • I'm a Longhorn, just thought I'd give yall a little insight from our end. We are one of the teams that he felt good with, aggy, I assume, is the other, that or LSU. He visited aggy a day or two before he came back down to Austin in June. After meeting with Coach Barnes and playing HORSE, Mack and Darrell Wyatt completely rearranged their schedules (didn't go to a coaching conference) just to meet with him. That meeting was beyond fruitful and sparked the "75%" tweet from Geoff Ketchum. I believe he said that Texas felt like "home" at one point. He's also maintained that Texas is his #1 this whole time including the most recent articles about the death threats. If we and when we win, he'll recommit. But if for some reason we don't, yall could potentially land him.

    • Thanks btown. I don't follow Ketchum on twitter, but do respect Jason Howell over there.

      Brian Ethridge

    • good interview - now let's recap: wasn't it his Uncle Eric Dickerson wh odrove his brand new (bought and paid for by the 12th man) maroon camaro with white leather interior from College Station to Dallas when he signed on with SMU?

Not much aggy could do at the time because ED wanted the car and the pony cash - those were smutty times and I just hope that we do not fall victim to more ED if RJS decides he wants to play for pay, like uncle.

Let's leave the cheating to sec. I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up in baton rouge.

    • Ketch is a loud mouth that does nothing but pump sunshine, as you may be able to tell I'm not exactly one of his fans. Howell does have good stuff for sure. Good luck on the season!

Do you guys know if we are recruiting RSJ as a WR, QB, or just general ATH? Did I read somewhere that we told him he has a chance to compete for QB?

I would assume he wants to be a WR as that's his best route to the NFL. I was under the impression he was playing at QB because that was best how to utilize his talents while in HS.

      I don't know tho.

    • I just wonder if he doesn't grow into a TE eventually. He's already a thick teenager, it's hard to maintain that. He could be the next great TE in the NFL if he is willing to.

i can't believe you edited this post two times, and there is still so much absurdity in it...

hell, you didn't even get the type of car and the color right, and that photo is legendary in the realm of recruiting scandals!

I LOVE BUs chances with RSJ! My justification here are:

Go back to UT after they showed what they showed him after his de-commit? Nope on UT

Go to aggy after his cousin ED took an ag given car to SMU and drove it the whole time at SMU? Well, ED would have to return to the scene to see his lil cuz play!? Nope on aggy

LSU/Oregon are out of state and RSJ said in-state is now where they're shopping? Nope LSU/Oregon

BU sounds like home cookin' to me! We'd love the cuz of someone that snowed an aggy con job, and welcome a UT decommittal as an absolute saint!!!

Just thinkin' . . . . . . . but REALLY like Drew/Briles chances to show this one the positives of BU vr these others! And man, this will make National headlines too for sure. What an interestingly dramatic story!

I like the way this is stringing out. The longer, the better opportunity for Baylor. Like Mike said, get the Drew-Briles magic going and we like our chances very much. RSJ mentions academics and that puts this is a perspective beyond just on the field or the court.

    • He really wants to take other visits. The only way he could would be to decommit take his visits and then may very well recommit. Just my opinion.
