Last Thursday Chris Callahan talked with Coach Kendal Briles and during the conversation he was offered a scholarship to Baylor. BearsTruth was able to catch up with Chris today after committing to the Bears.
BearsTruth: We heard you were offered, but hadn't been able to get in touch with you until today. How did it all go down?
Chris: "I was offered a week ago by Coach (Kendal) Briles and it was like a dream come true, but I wanted to wait and be 100% sure."
BearsTruth: Today was the day?
Chris: "Yes sir. I talked it over with my mom and I knew this is where I wanted to be."
BearsTruth: Recruiting as a kicker or punter or both?
Chris: "Kicker and punter."
BearsTruth: What sold you on the program?
Chris: "The education, the team, the facilities. Everything is great. You get a private school education in a major conference."
BearsTruth: Have they scheduled your visit?
Chris: "Yes sir. I'll be coming in on 2/1."
Chris was named First Team All-State in 2011 and 2012 and a Top 12 kicker nationally by Chris Sailer Kicking.

2012 Chris Callahan Senior Highlight
Chris Callahan is one of the nation's elite kickers and punters in the Class of 2013. He is nationally ranked, was named to the Top 12 Elite by Chris Sailer Kicking for 2012, and was named 1st Team All-State Kicker and Punter (TAPPS) in Texas in 2011 and 2012. Character, faith, and leadership have been the foundation to Chris's success in life and sports. Chris will be graduating from Second Baptist, a Christian college-preparatory high school in Houston in 2013.
