  • ND fan here and I am all for this move. Thanks for the article.

  • Did we really drop ag to add TCU and ND...I cant believe I am typing this, but, I would almost rather have Ag.

The smug cloud from Dallas might collide with the smug cloud from Indiana and cause St Louis to burst into flames.

I suppose if you cant date the hot chick you might as well date the rich ones.

  • Jim Swofford is supposed to be on with Jack Arute and Randy Cross this afternoon on their show on Sirius XM. Will be very interesting to see how he spins everything.

    ?

Not sure where the hate is coming from.

Notre Dame and TCU are both Christian private universities. I would welcome them with open arms. I have always respected ND and the way the believe the "student" part of "student athlete" is important.

    Aggy is dead to me.

Apparently you have never spent more than 2 minutes inside either stadium on game day. Liberty and HBU are both private christian universities and I dont want either of them.

FTR - TCU is as "christian" as Wake. They dont even want to be referred to as Texas CHRISTIAN University anymore.

Domers are just about as likable on a sports level as Ags, they are as arrogant at UT without any recent history for justification. I suspect within 30 or so minutes one of them will post the primer about how awesome they were in the 90s though.

So you are comparing A$M to the hot chick?

More like the illegitimate, toothless hillbilly stepsister.

I can see where you got that...I meant more like, if you cant find OTHER chick to replace Ag...one's that are HOT...there is always TCU and ND (and WV) :)

Pretty sure TCU has a seminary.

Im sure they do, what does that have to do with their fan base? I wasnt joking, they refuse to be called Texas Christian in the media.

Well, just about any successful program's fans are going to have a large number of jackasses. TCU's fans were pretty quiet and non-existent until they started winning. Then they came out of the woodwork and have been insufferable. It will happen with us too. Just the nature of things.

The difference is that with the aggys their arrogance and smugness came from nothing. It was not based on winning or a great tradition on the field no matter how they try to convince you otherwise. It's all sound and fury signifying nothing. On top of that they didn't bring value to the conference.

With ND you at least get value. Yeah they will be insufferable like most fanbases with a strong history, but at least we'll get something from them: more stability (as a full member), more revenue, even more exposure. I'd rather have the chance to play in Notre Dame Stadium than Kyle Field. No question.

  • Nein just needs to move south. His time in Ohio has made him sour.

  • I used to be fairly anti-ND cuz that had their own network deal back in the day. However, I did a 180 when we attended the BU/ND game in SB. I really have alot of respect for that institution. They walk the walk. They actually have sacrificed some of their athletics (football) to be a bit above the fray and actually have student atheletes. There are only a couple of those schools that exisist in Div. 1 these days. (and we ain't one of them). Love to have the domers in the B12 to up the profile and give UT a little prestige compitition. Wouldn't do it without a football commit, however. Bring on the the Catholics!!!!

  • Would you rather travel to SB or College Station? I vowed never to go back to CS after a trip in the 90s.

  • Gotta admit, I'm surprised by Nein's very strong stance against TCU and ND. So much so he'd rather have A&M? Just wow!

I did the same, and have not been back.

I can find irritation easily enough without going to the epi-center.

  • In the winter, I could see the golden dome through trees from my neighborhood. Loved them as a kid and still enjoy them. For this BU grad, getting the Irish would be a dream come true. Successful history gives you a little arrogance and it's ok. Ever been to a KU basketball game? That's what so funny about Aggies. Other than beating us, they have done nothing. They think the SEC wanted because they win on the field. Poor farmers.

Wait, wait, wait...KU is STILL relevant. As in, name all the schools who have won the Big 12 regular season basketball title...16 opportunities and Kansas has won or been involved in 9 of them.

From 1996 to 2011 our Baylor Bears won exactly 1 bowl game...Mighty Notre Dame won 2 (a Champs Sports bowl and an Sun Bowl). In that same span they won 10 games twice and one of those seasons included wins over THREE service academies.

Look, I get it, you cant turn them down but to read people talk about how Miami sucks and will never come back then bow to the golden dome is comical. By comparison: Miami won 8 bowl games, won a N/C and got robbed for a second one.

In all fairness Im mostly trying to liven up the debate since this topic is likely to wear on for like 2-3 months.

As for travel to S.B.,I went once...ask Brian how he feels about going to Columbus, OH for a tOSU game, my feelings are similar.

People say that about Miami because their president said publically they are going to reduce their investment in athletics, not to mention sanctions on their way. It's a true statement to say Miami won't be very good. Their own president wants it that way.

I bet ya Miami football will be fine and their President wont be there a long time.

Our FSU and Clemson friends don't believe that to be the case.

They'll need to make that move here pretty quick. If the Big 12 goes to 16, there won't be slots left.
