This is an honest Aggie question.
What would the divions be if you add FSU and Clemson? I want those teams in the Big 12 so the SECcan raid the ACC as well.
I've been asking this question on the Florida State site as well. Everyone there sees FSU playing Texas or OU as a Divisional opponent a prerequisite to joining the league. Texas and OU are not going to stop the Red River Shootout; this puts Texas, OU, and FSU in the same division and everyone else sprinkled around without any geographical sense. The most popular plan has Kansas, KState, Baylor WVU, Clemson, ISU as one division.
What does Baylor see as the divisional split up?
If you went straight to 16 teams, there would be more flexibility. Not so much with 12.
Geographically, it makes the most sense to have the Texas and Oklahoma schools in the same division, but the average Clemson and FSU fan see this as a nonstarter.

Ain't no way Baylor gives up it's in-state rivals so women's softball has to travel to the east coast to play. After all, we are presently the strongest athletics program in the Big 12, and finished 3rd in football (ahead of OU, A&M, and TU). If that were the case, we would pass on FSU and CU. And last I checked, FSU and Clemson are the ones coming to us with their hat in their hands, not the other way around. Without them we already have a 13 yr GOR and $20MM/yr...so quite frankly, who gives a damn what they do or don't want? Leave it to an aggy to not be able to logically work through to this obvious conclusion. Nothing personal, but go post on SEC boards. We put up with y'all for 100 yrs--we've paid our penance. Go chat with your new Masters... errr I mean rivals.

FSU is not getting both OU and Texas. They will get one every year and one every other year. North/South divisions are likely the way it can be broken up evenly. The Kansas schools and ISU want to keep playing the Oklahoma schools. FSU is not going to come in here and f-all that up. Texas schools and ACC in the south, everyone else in the north with cross divisional rivalries.
Texas - OU
FSU - WVU
TCU - Kansas State
Tech - ISU/KU
Clemson - OSU
Baylor - ISU/KU -

We'll do what is best for the conference. If we've learned anything through the last two summers it's that traditions are no longer sacred. Our tradition of playing ut every year certainly is far from a sacred tradition. We're definitely not considered an immovable object.
Baylor will be in favor of adding Clemson and FSU. Their additions benefit both the league and FSU and Clemson.

There is no logistical way for your scenario to happen unless you split up texas and OU. That would mean ending the Red River Shootout. Not gonna happen.
If you start a "permanent rival" a la the SEC, you could find a work around.
Go take a look at the FSU board. In just the same tone I hearing here about FSU/Clemson having to take what you give them, they are saying that they are a national brand and teams like Baylor, Tech, TCU will go play football where they're told. Their words, not mine.
There is a huge financial hit to Waco if you don't play texas every year. Honest question: Would Baylor downvote FSU's admission if it meant being in a division like this: Baylor, KState, Kansas, West Virginia, OU, OkState?

If I have any stroke at all in the matter (and I personally do not, but some of my friends do), then I'd be ADAMANTLY opposed to giving up playing our rival in-state teams every year. As I stated above, with a 13 yr GOR and $20MM/yr/per school ALREADY agreed upon, I think we will be just fine without FSU and CU, regardless of how much I would love to see them join. And that will give us plenty of time to win 1 or 2 Big 12 championships and establish ourselves as a dominant national program, just like little ole Miami did in the '80's. Furthermore, let's not forget that in recent years the "road to the NFL" leads through Waco. We have had FIVE 1st rounders in the last 3 yrs, and Briles and company have barely broke a sweat recruiting. How many did TU have go in the 1st round this year? Lemme think.... oh yeah I remember...ZERO.
