Absolutely. It will benefit Waco greatly.

I think it is pushed back if Waco doesn't do this. Baylor wants Waco to see the value of what they are doing and if Waco balks at helping, Baylor might not start the building bc they don't want to lose leverage on getting money from Waco... And that makes sense bc if Baylor broke ground without a commitment from Waco, Waco may never give them money or tax incentives.

We may be at the point where 2015 is the realistic date anyways, so I think we may see it dragged out... In my opinion the city of Waco has a lot of great vision, but they sometimes lack that "getting it from vision to fruition" factor...

Short of winning a football NC, I can't imagine there being a better time to seize the excitement of Baylor athletics than right now. IMO, this thing needs to move forward right now. If it doesn't happen soon, BU is going to look foolish after all the pub surrounding it complete with drawings.

Even if the funding wasn't in place I didn't see them sticking to the aggressive timetables I've seen bantered about.

You just can't move dirt and build that type of structure that quickly.

I heard that BU initially asked for $50 mil, but am very excited if Waco does indeed contribute $35 mil. Waco will see a tremendous benefit from the stadium and athletics. Visitors from other schools will actually enjoy their trip here with the new stadium, being on campus and all the new development.

From the citizen on the street to the elected officials, the mood in Waco is very positive when it comes to BU. The city leadership is not stupid. I would be shocked if the money wasn't appropriated.
