Baylor commits on AP All-State teams

I think the TSWA lists that come out in early January are usually a little better but making the AP team is certainly a big honor. Here are the Bear pledges on the list. Also, the AP only takes into account the regular season so the stats on the link do not include the playoffs.
Class 5A
RB Johnny Jefferson-HM
DL Byron Bonds-HM
DB Austin Jupe-HM
Class 4A
DL KJ Smith-HM

Im happy for the kids that made it but my goodneas West Orange Stark had the #1 defense in the state an had no one make 1st or 2nd team and to make matters worse a kid from WOS Jerquis Beasley (one time North Texas commit) made honorable mention and he quit after the first game. All I can do is smh.

Honorable Mention
His team went far in the playoffs, he tore it up on the field, and then Honorable Mention.
JT getting Honorable Mention makes some sense to be as his team was him and didn't make the playoffs.
Jupe being HM is great as he missed a few games, but he had a great year.

Also, the AP teams tend to be more filled with "names" as they are not around and see as many games as the Texas Sportswriters Association (TSWA). That's why I put more credence in the TSWA lists.

I know, but how many sacks did KJ Smith have?
Should have earned 2nd team from what he had by half-season.
20 sacks on the season, 22 hurries, 6 forced fumbles, 102 tackles. That is a stat line for a DE.
