TCU is wearing pink and purple.
"Where the girls are girls and so are the guys"
Orf doubles to lead off the inning and Baylor strands him at 2nd. Not a good inning. Will have to generate the offense from the bottom of the order in the 9th.
This team just lacks the "it" that is needed for baseball. If it is coaching or just the players, two strike outs and a pop out after a leadoff double against a pitcher that is 8 innings deep is unacceptable. At least put the ball on the ground to make them make a play at least.
Was Ron Washington in the BU dugout?
7- reached on error by Towey
8- HBP, runner to second
9- strike out, runner at second picked off by Doe (2 outs)
1- HBP (3rd of the day)
Ashby in to pitch
2- single up the middle on 0-2 count, scores from second (3-1 OU)
3- ground to pitcher, bunt
OU 3-1 after 8 1/2

Coming into today, the game threads I started held a 5-0 record (outscoring opponents 41-7). All good streaks must come to an end, but I'm not so sure this one had to...something changed about midway through today's game. I'm going to start tomorrow's game thread and try to recapture the magic, but in all likelihood it is lost.
Down one run is like being down 10. Not a whole lot of offense
Good grief this team is difficult to watch. Twice we had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and we strike out. The first time we had runners on 2nd and 3rd our hitter stood there and looked at 3 strikes. Didn't even get the bat off his shoulder. Pretty much the same thing in later when getting guys on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out is followed by two strikeouts. In both instances OU was giving up the run for an out. Anything, other than an infield fly or strikeout scores the guy - we strike out.
We lead off the 8th with a double and can't move the runner anywhere.
Garner pitched a great game, it's a shame he got saddled with the loss. Michelic just didn't have it. He looked kind of wild in warmups and seemed to have trouble throughout.
Don't win many games scoring 1 run. The sad thing is OU's offense isn't particularly scary. They've got one guy hitting about 400 and one around 300. The rest are mid 200's. Kind of like us.
