Andrew had CT scan today on the major tumors, excluding his head which will come in another two weeks.
Keep praying for him, we all know he is a fighter.
thanks for keeping us updated
Here is the update from Andrew: Really bad report, cancer has spread to organs, spine, more bone. I’m dying, but Christ lives and so will I!
Please keep them in your prayers.
I know one day I'll open this thread and he'll be gone, like others I've known, and even though I don't know him I feel the sadness of our oncoming loss.
And it will be sad for those remaining behind after the loss of Andrew if he doesn't survive. And after all the suffering of Andrew and his family and friends, the satisfaction they gain from knowing that the cancer is dead is the salvation that God gives to end this suffering.
These bright medical professionals do all they can do, and in the end sometimes the cancer prevails. But then God intervenes and kills the cancer. And that is the greatest feeling, the finality of the suffering, and all knowing God won!
And in my opinion God didn't order this terrible disease to invade this body. It is part of life, part of all that evil we face on earth, as worldly beings. And it turns into a great test of our blind faith in our Lord and Savior.
But, the rewards of this great faith, this great trust, that Andrew and his family have endured, and their wonderful exhibition of faith to influence all walks of mankind, to teach them to have this faith, will result in the greatest reward that God promises us all, if we believe and have this blind faith. That being everlasting life in paradise.
Andrew and his family have passed that test if I know anything about this life and God's Word.
Deeply saddened to read this. Puts life in perspective. God bless Andrew and his family.
I felt the exact same way last week when reading about him, especially so close to losing Huck.
Grateful that Andrew is living out the words to the song In Christ Alone:
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be. Until that time, lots of profound sadness for those left behind. I pray for his family. His faith, just from reading this, is very inspiring.
As someone who now has been touched by two stories of cancer and going through this too young, I am going to make a personal dedication to make sure Cory Case's endowed scholarship is fully funded by the time Andrew's children are old enough to attend Baylor.
Anyone who is interested in making this happen over the next 15 years, please let me know.

Thanks for this thread. Andrew's journey really puts life in perspective for those of us caught up in so many things of vanity. I've said multiple prayers for Andrew and his family since reading this and after losing my lovely mother to cancer in 2006 at 59... I just couldn't imagine losing a parent or spouse at his tender age (31). May we all lift up prayers for this young man and his family as I'm a true believer that prayers by the people of faith do work. I pray for Andrew's faith, his family's faith and the faith of everyone that has read this story ... that we pray for this young man's healing... but not only that... but that no matter what the outcome here on this earth.. that the impact of his life is never forgotten. Make a donation if you haven't..
God Bless Andrew & Bailey Heard.....
Andrew is at MD Anderson today for another round of chemo. Please pray that it doesn’t make him as sick as the last round. Also, he is not able to see out of his right eye.
Praying right now for Andrew and his family.
I'll pray for him.
Praying today for Andrew and family.
Thanks for praying. Andrew can really use them today at 4pm. This is from his wife Bailey:
Can you all please pray for Andrew? He goes in at 4 pm for an MRI because he has massive headaches and his eye is really hurting. We are praying that it's just swelling from the gamma knife and not that it's more tumors. Thank you all so much.
will do- thanks for updates
