Figured out his role on the team?
Last 4 games...
Texas- 7 points 4 rebounds
Kansas- no points, but had a few steals in that game that really separated us from Kansas
OSU- Seems like his defense really helped us get back in this game, but can't remember
LBSU- 10 points 1 rebound... A few highlight reel dunks, but always seemed to find the open spot on the floor offensively
ASU- 6 points 4 rebounds... Really rebounded well with the bigs last night. Again seemed to find the open spot on offense for some dunks.
Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but if something has clicked with him he might be very valuable next year if he stays. He seems to have less lapses on offense with more playing time and is using his athletic ability as his strength.
I like Deuce. He is playing well.
Those jams last night were big. Walton would have bricked layups in those situations.
If he has figured it out and decides to stay...
Would be intriguing and has the potential to be a good rebounding lineup.
Another thing that excited me... Prince leading a fast break and getting off a decent look. 6'7 leading a break.. I like.
Yep, I feel the same way. I've liked Deuce from day one and hoped he would find success on our team. He seems like he wants to contribute so bad and just hasn't been given the opportunity to do so. I watch him on the sidelines and a lot of times he looked indifferent. I don't why but I felt he didn't like being here and even more so since his friend Q Miller had left. I hope he doesn't transfer because these last two years he'd be a definite asset for us.
In fairness he does need to work on his ball handling and outside shot tremendously. Defense and finishing around the rim? No problems there.
Prince was great. All of you that said he's gonna be a major contributor and leader in the coming years I can totally see that. He's been getting more playing time recently so Drew knows it too...
Nobody flushes like a Deuce

I like Deuce a lot, but I think he's always going to be an AJ Walton type for us. By that I mean he can bring some good things to the table at times, but is always going to frustrate us. Neither one can shoot the ball at anywhere near a D1 level, and AJ is a much better ball handler. Deuce can finish at the rim, so he has the advantage there. Both have the reputation as good defenders, but they also both make a lot of really stupid defensive mistakes and pick up silly fouls from reaching.
All in all, I would rather watch Deuce because he's more entertaining, but both will always be terribly inconsistent. If he ever starts for us, it would concern me. But then again, it concerns me that AJ has started so many games in his career too.
Prince excites me- I think he will be all conference by the time he is done. I think the future is bright with Prince and Gathers. Hopefully, they will improve a lot this summer and be key guys next year.
If Gathers can figure out how to make a layup on an offensive rebound he will average 10-12 points next year.
If Austin and Jefferson both return he might not get that opportunity though.
Really hope Corey returns. Another year of seasoning and filling out wouldn't hurt Isaiah either IMO.
I think the key for Bello the past few games has been to not dribble the ball. He needs to simply pass it around the arc, and then get himself in position off of the wing to come slicing into the lane. Whenever he tries to drive, he jumps in the air without knowing where he is going with the ball...resulting in a usual turnover and bad attitude. Just move toward the rim without the ball when there's a drive or shot going up. He can be like a Rodman type player...no need to handle the ball.
This has been a long journey for Bello - from terrific athlete to basketball player. Hard to read faces on TV but he sure has the look of someone who is not totally engaged. He has begun to make progress and for that I think we are all happy. The question is whether or not he can get the playing time he wants at Baylor the next two years. He could go smaller D1 school and play a ton. He will be interesting to watch.
I like the progress I have seen in his change of attitude...he never seemed to be engaged on the bench and now it seems like he's bought in to the team aspect.
The one thing I love about all drew coached teams is how much of a family they are...these guys always support each other and it's cool to see guys step up in the post season
If we have someone next year who can break down defenders and dish like Pierre, Deuce has a role. Otherwise he will be relegated to grabbing off boards.
IMO, this is the key. We have to have a point guard that can get the ball to guys where they can inflict damage. Deuce is hustling and working, slashing to the basket, but he has to have someone that can hit him in stride so he can finish like we all enjoy watching.
Seems to me Bello is making better decisions on the court.
Whether that's coaching, maturity, or both I don't really care but his play is noticeably better.
