The weather is historically VERY nice on the day of the Holiday Bowl. It's not rare to be in the low 70s on the day of the game. Be cautious to bring layers and a good coat to the game. It gets pretty chilly at night, especially in the stadium.
During halftime there is a pretty good fireworks show. The smoke lingers in the stadium making kickoff and the first 5 minutes or so of the second half a little foggy.
The Holiday Bowl parade on the morning of the game is interesting. It is the biggest balloon parade in the country. It's a pretty good way to spend the morning if you're looking for something to do.
Saw on weather.com the possibility of rain on Thursday night...
Of course my bigger problem might be the alleged snow on Christmas night in Dallas. My flight leaves for LA early on Dec 26.

Rain and a high of only 57 degrees
It will be a balmy 72 degrees, dry and comfy in my recliner. Plus, beer isn't $12, the company will be good, there will be a nice spread, I can see replays and will have the action on 56", 50" and 35" Tv's and also on a 110" projector with a house full of football fanatics.
Y'all have fun though! Wouldn't mind being there but it will be nice not putting up with rain, etc.
I just got an update saying UCLA safety tevin McDonald is out for the bowl game, didn't know if this was posted already, sorry if this is a repost..
he didn't make any of the all conference teams- but probably not a loss they are happy about playing a prolific passing attack like Baylor's.
I got no problem giving them a steady dose of Lache and Martin.
Yeah I'm inviting myself to limnos for the game.
Our flight is at about the same time.
Interesting policy. Only after a 3rd positive test for marijuana does a UCLA player have to miss a game. I don't know what policies are across the country, but that's pretty lenient it seems.
Welcome to Cali...
I wonder if there's an exception if it's prescribed marijuana...
Also, heard that the bear balloon from the Homecoming parade will be in the Holiday Bowl Parade. First time a college has had their own balloon in the parade.
North County Times on Florence
As shadows left from great players go, the one left behind at Baylor by 2011 Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III was longer than the Brazos River that runs along
Thanks! A super article.
Tell a "doctor" you can't sleep. $50 and 5 minutes later you have your "prescription" or in their words, license.
Walk out the door and go find a dispensary on any corner five minutes later. Ridiculous how unregulated and easy it is. Pretty funny though.
Baylor marketing itself in SD. Some factual inaccuracies like the 10 or so bowl games we have played outside Texas but other than that good publicity.
Baylor University is taking advantage of its football teams appearance in the Holiday Bowl to spread the message about its school to alumni and prospective students in the San Diego area, a college official said Monday. The university placed a
Interesting we put mark Hurd on a billboard, less than 18 months after he was fired from HP on sexual harassment charges...glad we are doing something though.
Good stuff. I'd like to see our student body start to be a bit more balanced between in-state and out-of-state students. We need to take to heart the idea of flinging our green and gold afar. For too long we've been satisfied with being familiar to Texans but not letting our story go beyond that.
Pro Ecclesia, Pro Mundus
He wasn't fired for sexual harassment and charges were never filed.
I'm very good friends with his daughter Kelly. Good guy though.

"The Bears have played in few bowl games over the years, and have never played a post-season game outside of Texas. Barry said coming to San Diego gives the school a chance to seize people’s awareness."

If Barry said that someone needs to educate him. We have played in the Gotham, Sugar, Orange, Peach, and Copper that I can think of that were out of state.
He's likely reading this.
Dixie, Liberty, hmmmm...
Can't believe I forgot the Liberty. I was at that one. Also, there are a ton of schools who haven't been to as many bowls as we have. Aren't we up to 20 now?
Check out the bowl records by school.

If you make the drive, we'll make an extra spot.
I think this is #19.
