I really think that Texas wanted Billings the most and he acquiesced to his Mommy and stayed close to home in Waco.
His last visit to Texas he committed to the Horns and his Mama made him withdraw it.
He's not a baby but she won't cut the umbilical card which is unfortunate for the young man.
According to Marty Herbst and Blake Munroe(who surprise writes for the 247 Texas recruiting site and whose source was Marty Herbst) he gave a secret verbal commitment, yet his parents and Andrew himself denied ever giving a verbal to Texas...
But your tears are heard loud and clear.

most blatant attempt at fishing for a reaction? if not, then it's up there...
Bleacher is super legit reporting. Good find lateral. Right up there with Harvard Business report.
#Baylorgang we are, #Baylorgang we will always be...
I was banned for a year from ag board for aproximately .5% of Longhorn Laterals statement!
Tell us about all of the good receivers that texas has put in the NFL lately. this shouldnt take long. Mack doesnt even know what type of offense he wants to run. I hear he has scrapped the copy Alabama offense for a wanna be Oregon offense.
First, bleacher report...
Second, what a mistake it'd be for Rhodes or any receiver to go to a place like UT and its staff that doesn't have a clue about how to use a receiver. Rhodes specifically said he didn't like how UT used their receivers. He'd be taking a huge risk with his career putting it in the hands of Mack and his staff. It's just beyond stupid to think Rhodes is better off at UT. Not even close. He'd have a better shot at the pros at SMU than UT the way things are going right now.
As for Billings, only his coach said he made a secret commit to the horns. Billings and his family denied that, and had to constantly counter everything the coach was relaying to the UT site. In reality, the competition for Billings was between Baylor and TCU. UT was making a desperate late charge, even lying to the kid to try and get him. You can't expect that strategy to work.
But, again, the most ridiculous statement is that Rhodes would be better off in Austin. Even if Mack wanted to throw the ball (I guess he's decided he wants to do that again after experimenting with the Bama offense), who the hell is going to get the ball to him? The OC situation has been jumbled in Austin for four years, and the QB development is showing it. Rhodes knows not only does Briles put receivers in the league, but he coaches up and prepares his QBs too. He knows someone already on campus is going to be getting the ball to him. At UT? It's a crap shoot. Does Ash finally figure it out on his own? Can Brewer get the coaching at a camp somewhere to be the man? After that it's a list of guys waiting to transfer or find another position to play on the field.
This is why UT is in a state of frustration. Dodds and the fans think it's about how often you're on TV. To heck with results and wins. And that's the kids you attract to your program: guys who want to be on TV and that's it. By all means, take the prima donas off everyone's hands. Tell them they're awesome and special when they lose and put them on TV regardless if they deserve it or not, and continue to wonder why your players have no edge, are uninspired, and drowning in entitlement.

Pro Ecclesia, Pro Mundus
Wow! Its one thing for a "guy" to issue the statement and another for a national publication to be this far off base.
1. Kendall Wright--1st round
2. Josh Gordon 2d round supplemental
3. Terrence Williams--likely first rounder
4. 9 of 11 games televised last year, 6 of them nationally.
That's invisibility for sure. The guy had a quota and had to fill it with some pages. Too bad thought wasn't involved.
Two network aggys in one day coming over here to talk smack. Yeah, things are going real well in Austin.
BleacherReport is always just some "guy".
Take a look at the brilliant mind that wrote the article:

Sour grapes. Bleacher Report is nothing but a network of t-shirt fans and arm chair quarterbacks pretending to be sports reporters. Rhodes had A LONG TIME to decide. He chose Baylor. I am sure he heard all kinds of blather such as the OP and BR are spewing. He made the right choice for him. But it is fun to watch other fanbases get worked into a frenzy because they didn't win every recruiting battle.
Texas fans are a little sore in the nether regions after getting bent over yesterday by multiple Big 12 and SEC teams.
Sounds like Conner needs to buy you some shots.
Jefferson did NOT have an offer from UT.
Atleast get your facts right.
At the end of the day - I'm glad that it looks like the Bears are our main competition in the state without the Aggys'... that said, keep bringing up two years ago all you want. Currently, we are 1-0 against you... that's what I call "scoreboard". And you selecting years to help your argument is not all that amazing. Care to compare 4 years, 5 years, 6 years, 7 years, 2 years, 1 year... well, you get the point.
I don't care about your heisman trophy... it still netted you an Alamo Bowl game, which our fanbase considers beneath them. Win (or play) for a NC and get back to us.
Who cares about your "5 1st rounders"... we should have two more first rounders this year and we are only graduating 3 starters. That will put us at about 12 since '04. We have more players in the NFL from 2 classes than Baylor has total... again, not impressive.
Everybody plays on TV? Who the hell cares? Texas will be on TV every game... most of the time on primetime. There is no way that EVERY game that Baylor plays will be on TV. Not reality.
Upward trajectory? You went 7-5 and finished 5th in the conference. Last year you won 10 games and finished 2nd or 3rd... can I tell you which way is up? You seem to be confused. That said - Texas improved from last year... not fell off.
That said, yes - Rhodes probably did make the right decision IMO. Billings on the other hand --- not so much.
Welcome to the board, Mack. How is Major?
Hey chupita, I was just in a Valero and noticed they got in a new shipment of tee shirts. Just thought you'd like to know.
Don't rag on Valero... they sponsor the greatest bowl that Baylor has ever played in!
That's because he called them out and told Macky poo no thanks before they offered. I'm sure Mr. Jefferson can validate on here but I wouldn't blame him if he didn't want to deal with you dip$hits again after how he was treated a few months back.
There is no meaningful distinction between offering someone and conditioning their offer on a visit, something we know UT did do, when the recruit's choice (to visit or not) is the deciding factor. The only reason you do that is so your fans can later say "well, we didn't actually offer!" when the intent to do so was clear the entire time. If Jefferson had visited, he would have been offered. He turned you down more than you did the opposite.
I've come to the conclusion that arguing with UT fans about stuff like thus is like arguing with your 2 year old about why they can't have Pringles for breakfast. You can't supply enough information or logic to move them off their belief, no matter how illogical it is.
Your options are to give in and give them what they want, which will just make the next fit louder and longer. Or you can ignore it until they get tired of hearing themselves scream, and they'll move on to something else.
What do you mean you can't have Pringles for breakfast?!?!
Actually with the Big 12 tv deal picking up all but one game and the other one being sold to FSN all our games are going to be on tv. Same thing for UT but 1/4th of your season is on the hidden LHN which offsets any prime time advantage.
AT&T is hidden? Where the hell do you live?
I can, but my kids can't...
