Wow! Now that's excited.
Good news, although it would be best for branding if we went full Adidas across athletics and became the Oregon of Adidas. There is a lot of value in having that consistent branding and affiliation for all the sports + RG3, Kendall Wright, etc. Not to mention the uniforms, colors, and styles would be much more cohesive. Baylor could be synonymous with Adidas.`
That is an interesting take. I am betting that 98.5% of all Baylor people couldnt even give you a list of who supplies unis for Football, MBB, WBB and Baseball. There is probably value to Adidas but I wonder how much value there would be to Baylor.
Pretty sure Notre Dame is Adidas so that kind of takes the wind out of the sail for the Oregon of Adidas argument.
True, but the fact that you knew that sort of proves the point.
Briles talks with KWTX about the upgrade.

Same video I linked in the post on ODB...
Actually in the world of sports apparel, being a tier 1 school with Nike is better than anything Adidas can do for Baylor. WBB is already one of their top flight schools, now football is in a group of what 20-25 schools that will get special branding, now if we could get MBB and all other sports to switch from Adidas/Under Armour over to Nike then we would be set.
Ian has been working on it but as of last summer it was still more profitable to allow each coach to pursue their own contracts. I do think we'll get there soon tho. Would love MBB to be nike.
^^^^^^^^This. this this this this this.
Purists and folks that don't care about uniforms should be excited about this if for no other reason than it has been something CAB has been pursuing since he got here. That should be enough of an indicator that this is bigger than new unis.
Smitty has some issue w/ both Nike and Easton. we screamed to switch from Reebok and Louisville Slugger, when i was there, and he was dead set against it. He didnt seem to like Addidas either, which is probably why he didn't just pick them up when they bought Reebok.
Anyway, as long as the university lets the coaches pick their equipment providers, baseball will never be a Nike sport (as long as Smitty is there, at least). from what i've heard and read about Drew, he's pretty loyal to Addidas, so a change there probably isn't likely either.
Smith has a friend at Louisville Slugger or a former player's dad. Some personal connection. I'd love for BU to be one of the Easton Elite teams that are seemingly in the CWS every year.
I have nothing to do with Easton either for those that it may concern.
If we go full camo our players will be invisible.
Tough to tackle what you can't see.
I must have missed something. Did you get in trouble?
