what an interesting story about this guy. He graduates from John Hopkins University with a degree in economics. He coaches basketball after college- just in the NBA as an assistant for Milwaukee and Boston. Then he co-founds a Wall Street firm at age 30 that is now worth over $100 million. But he decides he wants to give up that life to coach basketball so he returns to the game as an assistant at Florida State at age 37. Now he is 43 and in his 2nd year at Florida Gulf Coast and has them playing in the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney. Oh and he is married to a supermodel who is a passionate basketball fan. She grew up a huge Oklahoma State fan and used to go to sports bars by herself to catch games.
She's been popping out kids lately. Pretty cool story.
Some team will hire him away soon. Read an SI article and he sounds like a solid teacher.
He sounds like a jerk!
Sounds a lot like the Ashley Hodge story.

This coach may be the new Shaka Smart. Seems like a good one to take a chance on: smart, team plays with high bball IQ; good salesman obviously; pro experience.
and now I truly hate him.
Speaking of... I hope UCLA doesn't get him. I respect the heck out of Smart and one day he will leave VCU for one of the elite programs. Just hope it isn't UCLA.
