Will be in Waco tomorrow and could use a recommendation. Thx.
Maybe Olive Branch? I'd call to check on the dog friendly part. It's a pretty big space. My buddy and I meet there for lunch often because his boys can get down and bounce around the table a bit without bothering other people (unless they start screaming). There's a table by the entrance set apart that's really great if you have kids. Again, I'd call to double check on the dog.
Pretty good food too.
Pro Ecclesia, Pro Mundus
Will call them. Thx. The dog is the problem. Otherwise I'd be at Georges.
Vitek's is pet friendly on the porch

This was my initial thought.
Mmmmmmmm... Gutpak.... Aaaaaaargh
Dog and kid friendly, in that order?
Pack a lunch and pick a park?
Olive branch to-go, eat on campus.
Olive branch owners are BU grads
China Buffet is the only place that is really pet friendly. They really know how to take cAre of them
I didn't know Viteks had expanded. The patio was great. Thx Atx.
Now if only viteks would improve their food :(
Sad such an established place has such disappointing BBQ.
The rest of the world disagrees:
Seriously though, the gutpak is amazing. The rest of their food? Not so much.
there are other things on the menu? wait... theres a menu?
Exactly. Once I decided to venture out and try their brisket. Someone else with me got their turkey. Turkey was refrigerated and served like deli meat. Brisket was one of the worst I've had. Chewy dry and flavorless.
Gut pack is good because its all chopped up and sauced up with fritos cheese beans onions jalapeños. Which is fine but if they were a legit BBQ place it would make Waco and Baylor that much better.
I really do want Viteks to be good and hopefully they decide to put in the effort on their quality one day. I guess I shouldn't expect too much from a place that doesn't even advertise brisket other than "choice of two meats" or "sliced beef."
Is olive branch still at 6th and Franklin? I lived on the 6th floor of the Praetorian for two years. Loved being an elevator ride away from a good lunch.
Edit: found my own answer. Is it the same Olive Branch that used to be in Praetorian building? Good for them if it is!
