I'm seeing some tweets that Jackson will be named second team all-conference despite leading the Big XII in scoring and assists. I don't follow Big XII basketball too closely, so I'm wondering if someone can explain how this happens? Presumably McLemore and Smart are 1st team (though from what I've seen Jackson is better than both right now), but is there a provision that says 3 guards can't be first team?
Here's a link to the teams. It looks like K-State's Rodney McGruder made the first team as a third guard ahead of Jackson.
This is awesome!!! Couldn't ask for a better script!
Besides the Cory Jefferson awakening, this may be the best thing that's happened to us all season.
AJ Walton pissed he didn't make all defense as well. Hope these guys play with a chip.
Ridiculous AJ didn't make defensive team.
First guard to lead a power 6 conference in points and assists in 15 years and he doesn't make first team? Smh.
Also, how's that 2nd team gonna guard the paint with 5 guards? No forwards and centers? Doesn't make any sense to me.
yeah, when first heard it, i figured that Smart and McLemore were 1st teamers, and i was fine with that, but seeing Macgruder added, as a 3rd guard, is just ridiculous over Jackson.
Pierre made the recently announced 1st Team AP All Conference Team, Austin was Second Team....
