Apologizes for the new thread. I was on BaylorFans and noticed that someone said that Phil Knight was in Waco for the game this past Saturday vs. KU and said there was a picture on this site. Does anyone know where the picture is?
Pretty sure in the KU game thread.
Justin got a picture with him and his brother.
Thanks, I'll look there.
I guess that might be good news for our football team if the CEO of Nike was at Baylor.
Oregon of the South. (Saw Brian said that on another thread)
I want that Hoodie
I saw that guy after the game, but didn't recognize him. I did think that hoodie was awesome and thought "I wonder if he's a Nike guy?"
Guess i was right...
Hopefully they'll be making this type of stuff in the fall.
Pretty sure he said it was special made, so you might have to fight him for it.
understatement is understated
yeah, it reminds me of a story of when i was working at Macaroni Grill, one summer, and this group of dudes came in. i was helping run some food or drinks out to their table, and they all of the sudden started to ask me about Tobasco. if we had it, where we kept it, etc. they asked me to bring them a bottle (NOBODY asks for Tobasco at an Italian restaurant), so i did. after they left, the actual server, for their table, made a comment to me that was something like, "so, I saw you met Mr Tobasco". i said something to her, along the lines of, "yeah, those dudes must've worked for Tobasco, or something", and she said no, that WAS Mr. Tobasco, and handed me the business card he left her. i don't remember which one, but it was one of the McIlhennys, and may have been Paul (CEO).
Did he specially make that neon hoodie and wear it to the basketball game to show drew that Nike can do neon too?
Pretty cool that he came down, wonder if he just came to see football and womens basketball or making a pitch for all sports?
Prolly just came to town to see what all of this Big O talk was about, and decided to catch a basketball game, while he was in town...
I'm curious as to the reason for the visit as well. Was he just a guest of McLane or something, or was this a bit of a business trip for him? Conspiracy theorists unite!
Pro Ecclesia, Pro Mundus
I figured he was there for McLemore...
Wearing a neon yellow Baylor hoodie? proably not...
My thought is that he was down to show off the new unis. I predicted that Baylor would have the new uniforms on display for the second junior day as they took longer to get ready than a helmet. Coming true?
Nike has reps for that kind of stuff. He was probably there as someone's guest like McLane or something.
Phil Knight + RG3 + Senior Night + PIerre's grandmother = 23 point victory?
The more I think about it the more I'm convinced we're going to beat UT by 24+ this year to close out Floyd Casey. All the fans, friends, family and former players being there plus the ceremonies better get our guys all fired up.
Thank goodness all these kids have twitter accounts and instagram accounts these days. Looking forward to seeing pictures.
We'll post them once a recruit puts them up. We have a list of players coming up.
I'd love to know who is pulling the strings on the capital raising/networking side. We have had Jamie Dimon (CEO JPMorgan) and Phil Knight (Nike Founder) both on campus within 10 days. That would be impressive for UT, but for Baylor that is monumental in my mind. Anyone have a pulse on what Drayton/Baylor have in mind?
