Fascinating situation. On the one hand, it does seem like there's no way you can stay at 10 with SEC and B1G going to 14 or even 16, but on the other hand, the Big 12 schools would be making so much more money at 10 if they just stick together.
Reality says the Big 12 has to get back to 12, and maybe that's a way to still make more per team than the other conferences but not get so big.
Actually, real reality says the whole thing is going to move to four 16 team conferences so better to lose some money than be left out in the cold. That is going to be such a stupid arrangement of teams.
How in the world does Maryland pay $50M exit fee? They are broke as it is.
Will the networks, especially Fox, renegotiate if we expand? I can see ESPN saying no, but this could benefit Fox.
Any chance the Big Ten or Big 12 offers UNC and Duke to get the Tarheels?
