If RG3 goes to the redskins....what do cowboys fans do?

  • I'm interested to know if any Baylor fans would pull for rg3 in every game except when the skins play the Cowboys?

    I have never liked the redskins and hope he doesn't end up there, but if he does I think that's a reasonable approach for a cowboys/baylor fan.

    What do others think who are also big fans of the Dallas Cowboys and RG3?

  • Watching RG3 beat the Cowboys twice a year as a Redskin would be like getting a shot, but at least the nurse adminstering it is hot.

  • From what I'm told it would be impossible to pull for the redskins in every game but the ones vs Dallas.

    It's against the fan rules, and if anyone roots for Washington in every game but the ones vs Dallas they are a sell out and not a real cowboys fan.

    And if they were to buy a redskins rg3 jersey....just move out of Dallas completely bc you are a failed cowboys fan.

  • My attachment to the Cowboys pretty much ended when Jerry Jones took over.It has been a pretty painless divorce.

  • I was wearing Cowboy gear the day i popped out of my momma. I am only a recent BU alumnus.
    Therefore, I agree with Bono. I will wish Robert the best of luck 14 games out of the year, but that's it..

  • I would root for him to compile unreal numbers and lose every game 50-49.

    If you're a true Cowboys fan (as I am), you cant root for Redskin success. Rivalry aside, they're in the same damn division. A true Cowboy fan can't root for the Redskins to go 14-2 simply because 14-2 wins the division.

    That said, once playoffs start and Cowboys are at home on the couch, I'd openly root for RGIII and the skins.

  • Nothing would make me happier than for RG3 to go to the Redskins and beat the Cowboys twice a year for his entire career.

  • I never played or worked for the Cowboys so I don't have the same kind of attachment as I would if I went to Baylor and rooted for the Longhorns. That's what you're getting at and they aren't the same thing. I'd root for Robert to be an all pro every year and sneak in as a Wild Card team once Dallas has won the division.

  • Lifelong diehard Cowboys fan here. I'll hate it if he ends up a Redskin...........but............if he does, I will still travel to his first game as a starter regardless of where it is, and I will openly root for him in every game. I will root for him to have great games against the Cowboys too, but for the Skins to still lose. And I'm fine with the Redskins going 14-2 with only losses being to the Cowboys, as long as the Cowboys go 14-2 or better themselves.

    That said.....please don't let him end up a Redskin.

  • im a cowboy fan and i watch all of their games but i dont like jerry and his price gouging ways. ive got no problem cheering for rg3 in the nfl and i will get the ticket so i can see all of his games. i think i may go see a game out at fedex if he were to end up there.

  • Cringe if you are a cowboy fan b/c he's going to kick butt.

    I hate the cowboys so there is no conflict of interest with me. That's not entirely true. I hate the Jerry Jones version of the Cowboys, so as long as he owns the team I won't have any conflict.

    Cowboy fans can, however, pray for the day RGIII becomes a free agent signs with the boys and returns to his rightful place in the lone star state.

  • Well since Danny boy Snyder will always run that franchise I hope for RG3's sake he doesn't go there, but if he does I will always root for him to stay healthy and put up good numbers while losing every game because his defense can't stop anyone then when he becomes a FA get a big deal and get the hell out of there.

    it may not be a jerry only thing but for some reason it doesnt seem to me that the chiefs or the broncos are gouging their fans for $75 to park. i could be wrong but i think jerry gouges harder than just about any other team.

    this is the exact same circumstance. it is a great analogy.

    I seriously want to know if those who love the cowboys will want RG3 to win or lose if he is a redskin.

    I have loathed the redskins all my life, but would want RG3 to succeed. what about others?

  • I grew up in Dallas with the triplets so I'm a Cowboys fan. I'm not die-hard but some of my closest friends are. When I first started thinking about the possibility of Robert going to Washington it made me sick. You can't pull for him when he's in the division, it just doesn't work that way. But the more I think about it the more I realize how impossible it would be for me not to pull for him. He's just too damn awesome and likeable, plus as Baylor fans we need him to thrive in the league. I also started thinking that as a college-first football fan, it wouldn't kill me to stop pulling for a team that has won only a single playoff game in the last 17 years. So, after struggling with this for a while I'm starting to think that if Robert goes to D.C. I'll be making a wholesale switch and learning Hail to the Redskins. It's going to suck but you can't pull for both. I'll still have my Rangers, I'll just also have a burgundy and gold GRIFFIN III jersey.

    You like bear mace, brah?
