Isaiah Austin needs to listen to Charles Barkley

2. Barkley had plenty of opinions on who should stay in school after this year and why. "The [Kentucky's Nerlens] Noel kid needs to stay in school another year," Barkley said. "I know it's not an easy decision ... He is not better than Anthony Davis and Anthony Davis is struggling physically. I don't think these guys understand how physically imposing the NBA is. Kentucky had six guys last year and ain't none of them made an impact. Not one. It hurts my game, man. In the NBA, the draft is designed for a bad team to get help. My bad teams didn't get any help. That undermines the integrity of the game. Like as a fan, if my team is [expletive], I will say, 'OK, I got some good young players.' I loved all those Kentucky guys, but they're not making an impact in the NBA, and that's not fair to the game. I want to have a good young team if I got lottery picks. And I haven't seen anything from those Kentucky players to say, 'OK, I got a good player going forward."

More people should listen to Charles Barkley...hehehe
But he's right, Austin would be right behind Noel on Barkley's "should stay in school" list...

loves me some Chuck! he's not afraid to tell it like it is, and i respect that. he also acknowledges that it's a really difficult decision (b/c of the huge $$), but it's tough to argue with him, since he's been there too.
i do disagree with him on Noel though. if he's still gonna be the 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft, then he NEEDS to go this year. with one major knee injury, already, he can't afford to stick around Kentucky, and risk another one. he'd get a nose bleed, falling so many tax brackets, if he stayed and got injured again!

I agree. I think it's different for a kid who's already been injured. If he's still rated that high then adios. Austin is a different story as he gets dominated physically in college by shorter defenders. I don't think he'd play a minute of significant basketball next year if he even made an NBA roster. The NBA needs to do something, the one and done rule is hurting both college basketball and the NBA.
