As recently as 5 years ago, UT had a powerhouse football team. No more. Mack can't recruit or coach anymore. At least they got a strong OL class this year, so that will help in a couple of years.
UT's dominant history is over. A&M has surpassed them, easily. Baylor is nipping at their heels, moving up as UT moves down. Seriously, which recruiting class would you rather have? One that didn't have a single DL or a RB?
UT is embarrassing the conference with their QB and WR play. How can a school with that kind of history drop so fast? This will be one for a Harvard case study. Before anyone tries to defend Brown, it is all the way across major sports at UT. It isn't just one year.
Under Barnes the MBB has been sliding for years. WBB, once the greatest in the southwest, is in horrible shape. Baseball was terrible last year. Football....playing 1950s Wing T.
It is not a good time to be a Horns fan but they do have a lot of history to call their own, just not much of a future.

Personally, I believe UT will be back. Probably not til Mack is gone, but they are on a down cycle now. UT's down cycles aren't as down as most experience. Personally, I think we need UT to come back as well as OU because that is better for the perception of the conference. But I hope Baylor achieves that as well.

Pretty sure that 4 years ago UT was undefeated and about to play in it's 2nd NCG in 4 years.
Anyway, you guys keep saying that we suck and that we can't recruit, but we still just beat you, finished ranked higher than you, finished higher in the Big 12 standing than you, and had a higher recruiting class than you. But, sure... I guess we are "slippin"...
It's nice to know that our worst is still what Baylor strives to be... good luck Bears!
