Made the Wrong Decision on National Signing Day 2013

  • As recently as 5 years ago, UT had a powerhouse football team. No more. Mack can't recruit or coach anymore. At least they got a strong OL class this year, so that will help in a couple of years.

UT's dominant history is over. A&M has surpassed them, easily. Baylor is nipping at their heels, moving up as UT moves down. Seriously, which recruiting class would you rather have? One that didn't have a single DL or a RB?

UT is embarrassing the conference with their QB and WR play. How can a school with that kind of history drop so fast? This will be one for a Harvard case study. Before anyone tries to defend Brown, it is all the way across major sports at UT. It isn't just one year.

Under Barnes the MBB has been sliding for years. WBB, once the greatest in the southwest, is in horrible shape. Baseball was terrible last year. Football....playing 1950s Wing T.

It is not a good time to be a Horns fan but they do have a lot of history to call their own, just not much of a future.

I would say quit while you're ahead...

But you're not. UT is behind Baylor now in every athletic category. Deal with it cha-poodle.

Well, UT does have volleyball. Gotta give em something.

Pretty sure that 4 years ago UT was undefeated and about to play in it's 2nd NCG in 4 years.

Anyway, you guys keep saying that we suck and that we can't recruit, but we still just beat you, finished ranked higher than you, finished higher in the Big 12 standing than you, and had a higher recruiting class than you. But, sure... I guess we are "slippin"...

It's nice to know that our worst is still what Baylor strives to be... good luck Bears!

  • Personally, I believe UT will be back. Probably not til Mack is gone, but they are on a down cycle now. UT's down cycles aren't as down as most experience. Personally, I think we need UT to come back as well as OU because that is better for the perception of the conference. But I hope Baylor achieves that as well.

Horns will need to eat some more humble pie before they come back.

By the way - it took OT for you to beat Tech... in Waco! At the end of the season? Yep, real world beaters.

If you are going to bring up awful points as this, get the facts straight. We played in Dallas.

By the way- it took you a last second touchdown to beat Kansas. The worst team in the Big XII? Yep, you are a moron.

Not at all. I was questioned where it came from and I linked it.

It is plagiarism if u portrayed it was your own work. You only gave the source when you were called out on it.

Great day for the Bears when whorns come to our board because they are sore losers! I love we intimidate them now.

Horns don't know how to lose. Aggies don't know how to win.

  • To get back to the original asinine comment about Rhodes (a wide receiver) "making the wrong decision"...

Apparently, I can't read. Tell me how many wide receivers are on the attached list? I only see one. And he is from 2009.

Compare to that to Art Briles' players...or even just to Baylor.

This might sound foreign to Texas fans, but Baylor has a better recent track record of putting WRs in the NFL.

EDIT: I haven't read anything in this thread since about 7pm last night, so if what I posted above has been covered...apologies.

4 years ago is, well, 4 years ago. UT gets the benefit of being a very well known program. Just like the Dallas Cowboys. Both are consistently over ranked. With the consistent poor performance exhibited by both the Cowboys and UT, that will change.

  • I find it hilarious that Horn fans feel the need to come talk smack to little old Baylor...:what happened to OU, and aggy? You should actually be smacking on Tech now, they are the only ones below you now

    bahamabear

  • Go Big 12. I hope we all excel. And I hope the Farm and Toy Soldier College loses 'em all.

  • Problem with horns has always been their feeling of entitlement and resulting arrogance!

They truly believe that other lesser colleges in their area or conference, should all lie down, just let the horns pick all the 5* players they think they want, until they can't take any more because of rules limits. Of course, during the days of Darrell Royal, they didn't have limits and took all they could so as to not leave any for the competition, at all. None. They are happy if you are then willing to take what ever dregs that are left, after all that is all you as a lesser college, compared to the horns, deserve.

Remember, they are texas(I always use a capital when I write about Texas, the State, but not when I speak of texas, as in longhorns). See, they don't deserve to have a capital T.

They have screwed the tube. They drafted players they wanted off of the Recruiting site rankings for years, and were too lazy to work hard, find out who were the truly great players. They were just happy to sign most of the highest rated ones, throw the bad ones out, and keep enough good ones to have a highly ranked college team.

These same players, living like kings in a well funded palace in Austin, also became entitled, just like their coaches, and just like their fans.

It is sad, as the flagship college of the great State of Texas, to be so rich, but so poor.

aggy, Baylor, TCU, oKST, and OU have become better destinations for players that truly want to achieve academics and sports careers, than the longhorns.

Most players want to increase their abilities in college through superior coaching, strength programs, and achieve a level of greatness that can transfer to NFL opportunities.

They can get all that at Baylor, TCU or aggy, moreso than at UT these days.

Robbie and Andrew, along with many others have seen the light, because their HS coaches, and their family advisors have seen that light.

These lowly, bitter posters who are either t-shirt fans, or perhaps they are some of the few that actually attended UT, and really care, they fill the need to strike out, to blame schools like Baylor, who truly have academics and sports improvements, and great accomplishments in mind for all their athletes, to a much greater degree than ole, spoiled, and entitled UT.

Well, boys for UT, you have a hard road ahead. Yep, I read ole Mack and Applewhite are going to a quick paced, spread offense next year, to be more like Baylor.

We gonna have us a fun ole time in Waco next year. See, our boys go against the greatest offense in America, every day in practice. I doubt your copycat coaches will have them playing it good enough to stay competitive with Baylor for a few years.

Next year's victory by Baylor in Waco will make it three out of four. Should have been four for four, but for the officials not calling holding on the horns on the first play of the game and not giving T. Williams his TD. I know you boys are smart of enough to get the message by then, huh. Just like all the good recruits we are gonna take from you boys over the next few years.

^^^^ Wonder if this has anything to do with it being in the capital of Austin, the entitlement originator for the state of Texas and it being the flagship state school that it is? Wonder if the entitlement attitudes will infest state schools in yrs to come more and more. That "give me somethin' for nothing" attitude would be more apt to infest the largest state schools first then keep going to the others imo .......

Keep it out of Baylor please .................... !!!!!!!!!
