Oklahoma football players Quentin Hayes, Trey Franks, Kameel Jackson and Jaz Reynolds have been suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules, the school announced in a release Wednesday night.

NORMAN — When Oklahoma opens its 2012 season at UTEP on Sept. 1, Landry Jones could have exactly one receiver — junior Kenny Stills — at his disposal with any big-time college football game experience.
Junior receivers Trey Franks and Jaz Reynolds and sophomore wideout Kameel Jackson — along with sophomore defensive back Quentin Hayes — were suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, coach Bob Stoops announced Wednesday night in a news release.
Franks' and Reynolds' suspensions were first reported by OUInsider.com, which said Franks is out for the entire 2012 season and Reynolds for seven games.
Wednesday's announcement makes the development of true freshman Trey Metoyer even more vital. Metoyer received rave reviews from teammates and coaches, and backed them up with a six-catch, 72-yard performance in the spring game.
Still, the lack of experience from Sooner pass-catchers is suddenly a serious concern for a team that entered spring expecting the position to be a strength.

Would love to get the skinny on that! I respect Stoops for being able to make that decision. It must have been something pretty bad.
I bet Landry Jones wants a mulligan on the 2012 Draft!
man, those are BIG suspensions for "Team Rules" violations. the first thing that popped into my head was the wacky tobacky, but i'm not sure that would be announced as a team rule violation. would it?

I've heard most of them are failed drug tests/busted for drugs.

thanks X. that's what i figured, but i didnt know if those were covered under team rules violations or not. i thought that the Gordon and Jefferson deal was a suspension for team rules violations, but i couldn't remember for sure.
