because of ugly uniforms? Really?

My trendy California nieces went shopping for shoes and said they wanted them as bright as possible - like Baylor. First time I've heard Baylor in anon-sports reference.

They are not any uglier that they were when we defeated K-State in 2nd round of the Big XII tourney. Don't think we had a choice since they we designed by the manufacturer and given to us as a special deal.. They are pretty bad, but the green one's a even worse.

The women's ugly gray "special" unis we not any better, IMO.

At least she will always know when Baylor is on TV.

Yeah, we don't nor should we market ourselves from a branding standpoint to our alumni. It's the national audience that doesn't know Baylor we need to get the attention from. Our alumni are already sold on BU. Marketing efforts with them are focused on keeping them connected to their alma mater. From a branding standpoint, what Adidas is doing is great! Gets people to pay attention to a small school they would normally have never cared about, and it helps sustain and to an extent validate our success.

If an apparel company is investing in you by giving you their latest and greatest and most unique, then that tells the masses that you are for real and not a flash in the pan phenomenon.

Look at the McDonalds AA jerseys this year. All they need is a sic'em on the front. Tell your sister to go cheer for UT or A&M if she cares that much about unis. We don't need fans like that. I think the black ones are even better.

So, we are getting the attention that someone wanted. Women dye their hair bright RED for the same reason. To be truthful, I am a senior, and I love these uniforms.

What can I say.

This. This. This. I would NOT be caught dead wearing one, but I'd sure as heck buy a couple for my nephews!

I completely understand the purpose of the uniforms, and it is working. The target audience loves them, and Baylor is getting more nation wide coverage. I personally don't like them, but I'm not supposed to. And, we haven't lost wearing the highlighter unis yet.

You should have saved that for your 1000th post. It's a doozie.
