Hey guys, congrats on the double 1st-rounders!
Wish my university could say the same....
I figured you guys are the right ones to talk to about Wright. So far, I've heard nothing but positive! I know he can flat out ball! But you got any juicy details? How 'bout off-the-field? Character concerns? Is he known for being a descent blocker? (CJ1K could use the help)
Anyway, good luck this year! Sounds like you have a solid replacement for RGIII

No one in the Big 12 could cover him for four years. Some of those same CB's are in the league now. You will be extremely happy with Kendall.
I saw lots of Titan fans pissed on the Rivals main board last night and did not understand why. He is a shy guy, does not want credit for anything, and does not want to talk to the media. He will get jawing at corners and then burn their ass down the sideline.

A knock on him - Sometimes a three yard completion is just a three yard completion. In college he could turn those into seven yard completions by reversing field, going backwards, and creating a circus. In the NFL moves like that will turn into a 2 yard loss. In the NFL he will have to stay disciplined in making the catch and getting up field even it is for minimal gain.

Wright has better acceleration than any WR in the draft, though not the straight line speed of some. He is deadly in space. As has mentioned, he had great hands his frosh year than got some dropsies when RGIII went down. Those were completely gone his senior year. Hasn't been mentioned, but the guy is also very durable (knock on wood). He played through a lot injuries his senior year that would have sidelined a lot of guys.

Some of the most amazing plays I've seen in football were by Kendall Wright. He's been really fun to watch.
2008 Baylor vs. Iowa State - Wright takes a basic screen to the right side of the field, runs to the right sideline almost out of bounds, side steps an Iowa State defender, then suddenly just cuts across the field to the left... all the way across and turns a 6 yard play into a 50 yard TD diving for the far left end zone pylon.
2008 Baylor vs. Texas Tech in Lubbock - last play of the 1st half. Baylor has it at the Tech 12 yard line with 1 play before halftime. Griffin drops back, gets ambushed by three blitzing Tech players. Griffin breaks one tackle and as he's going down just lobs it high into the end zone. Must have been 7 or 8 players in a grouping... Wright (at 5-10) just heaves above the crowd and pulls it down. Pure Wright athleticism.
2009 Baylor vs. Wake Forest - very similar to vs. Iowa State the previous year... Griffin laterals to Wright on the right side of the field at about the WF 40. Looks like a basic gain of 6 toward the right sideline, but then Wright stops on a dime, makes a radical cut back across the field and eventually cruises into the end zone on the far left side of the field.
2011 Baylor vs. Oklahoma - well documented play where Griffin throws hard over the middle, is deflected by Baylor's Tevin Reese (and also by an OU linebacker), ball shoots down the field and Wright catches it in stride and takes it 70 yards for a TD. Amazing play.
2011 Baylor vs. Kansas State - Griffin lobs it 40ish yards off his back foot, Wright just "goes and gets it" in one of the most acrobatic catches I've seen in years... Ball's originally over his left shoulder, Wright is running full speed, dives, catches the ball on the right side of his body, and lands in bounds.
2011 Baylor vs. Kansas State - Griffin throws hard over the middle to Wright and high. Wright springs up, catches the ball that looked to be overthrown, lands and IMMEDIATELY sidesteps a KState defender, then turns down the left sidline - with the last 19 yards being the now fairly famous "tight roping the sideline" finishing with a contorting dive for the pylon for the touchdown. Jaw dropping.
